Khaled Mostaguir was trained as a bioinformatician (PhD in Proteomics Data Management) and physicist/chemist (UNIGE). In February 2012, he joined the Clinical Research Centre as a Data Manager for Clinical Trials.
Khaled is in charge of managing data for various single- and multicentre studies at the cantonal, federal and international level. His responsibilities include developing eCRFs, administering databases, and implementing and managing data quality and security processes. He teaches good clinical data management practices to HUG clinical investigators and UNIGE students. Khaled also trains HUG investigators in developing their own eCRFs.
From 2000 to 2011, Khaled worked in R&D at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB), where he acquired a DEA and then a Doctorate in Bioinformatics. He has collaborated with various groups at the SIB (Proteomics Informatics Group, Swiss-Prot, Protein Structure Group, and Vital-IT) in designing and managing various world-renowned projects, such as the World-2DPAGE proteomics platform and the SWISS-2DPAGE database. He has participated in several global initiatives to standardise life sciences data (HUPO) and teaches proteomics data management and programming at UNIGE. In parallel, Khaled is part of the team in charge of the world’s leading molecular biology server, ExPASy.
