Fabiana Tirone obtained her pharmacist degree at the Pharmacy School in Naples, Italy. She continued her training in Switzerland, where she received a PhD in Science from the University of Geneva.After dedicating over 10 years to basic research in cellular and molecular biology, she obtained a Continuing Education Degree in Clinical Trial Management from the University of Geneva. She then joined the HUG Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Division in 2013 to work in pharmacovigilance
within the Geneva Regional Pharmacovigilance Centre. Following this experience, she decided to pursue a career in pharmacovigilance at a CSO (Contract Safety Organisation) in Geneva specialising in post-marketing pharmacovigilance, clinical study safety monitoring and medical device vigilance.
At the Clinical Research Centre, which she joined in 2017, she is in charge of managing pharmaceutical products used in clinical trials (storage, preparation, distribution and disposal) and reporting adverse events during clinical studies conducted at HUG.
Fabiana also actively teaches at the Geneva Faculty of Medicine and the Continuing Education Degree program.
